Jo Hampton manages Successful Resumes Botany, which she has recently expanded into South Auckland and Franklin to meet growth in the area. She is an established CV/résumé professional who is experienced in writing CVs for the New Zealand and Australian markets. She has specialist skills in covering letters and selection criteria.
The process starts with a face-to-face meeting: “This allows me to really assess the talents of the individual so that I can produce a CV that sells.” She selects the right combination of skills, experience and achievements, and presents them in a way that it will attract the attention of employers and recruiters. Her design and typography skills ensure that the document is well presented, easy to read, and appealing to prospective employers.
Most meetings take place during business hours, but she also offers some Saturday slots in Papakura, and Zoom/Skype appointments in the evening or at weekends provide more flexibility for those with busy lifestyles.
Jo’s early career encompassed advertising, newspapers, promotions, IT, adult education and social services. More recently, as a senior manager, she was involved in recruitment and HR in the public sector. Jo now runs a successful business writing CVs, producing manuals and conducting corporate and small business training.
She has a BA in History of Ideas and Sociology, an MA in Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. As a member of the Successful Resumes Australia Committee, she advises on management issues and contributes to the annual conference which helps writers keep up to date with current trends in recruitment.
